TERMS AND CONDITIONS
A deposit of 30% of the total tour cost – which is not refundable – must be made within 7 (seven) days of Invoice. If tours are arranged at less than 4 months notice, this deposit must be paid immediately. African Odyssey Safaris will specify exact payment dates with the client. If air tickets are arranged on behalf of the client they will be invoiced separately – for immediate payment – and will be payable in addition to the 30% deposit which itself will be calculated on the land arrangements, and will not take airfares into account.
Payment in full must be made at least 60 (sixty) days before the client’s arrival date, or immediately, if the tour is booked less than 60 (sixty) days from arrival date.
Prices are quoted in South African Rands except where otherwise indicated, and remain subject to change without notice. African Odyssey Safaris reserves the right to levy a surcharge on the quoted cost in the event of increases in fares, UK or SA Vat rates, accommodation and fuel costs, dues, faxes, fees or exchange rate changes. Such surcharges will not be levied once payment has been received in full. All deposits and payments are to be made by international bank transfer by the client according to the instructions issued by African Odyssey Safaris.
Please note that bookings cannot be confirmed until deposits payable are received into the African Odyssey Safaris’ bank accounts. Should deposits not be received in time then African Odyssey Safaris will not be liable for any provisional bookings which may lapse.
African Odyssey Safaris will not accept responsibility for any funds transfer costs. All costs associated with funds transfer by the client shall be for the clients account.
African Odyssey Safaris reserves the right to cancel any booking for which the total amount has not been paid by the due date. In this event 25% of the total price will be forfeited and the balance refunded.

Insurance and Passport Requirements
African Odyssey Safaris will make every effort to advise clients of health, visa, passport and other critical information. The onus is upon the guest to ensure that passport and visas are valid for the countries to be visited. The company, their staff and their agents cannot be held liable for any visas, etc., not held by the guest, or the cost of such visas. Passports validity must extend for at least 6 months after the planned return date of the tour. It is a requirement for visitors to South Africa to have at least two (2) blank side-by-side pages in their passport, for use by South African authorities. Failure to meet this requirement will unfortunately, result in the client being refused entry to South Africa.
Malaria is a problem in some parts of Southern Africa and it remains the client’s responsibility to seek and follow qualified medical advice before travelling. It is a condition of travel with African Odyssey Safaris, that all of our clients take out comprehensive travel insurance for cover against cancellation and curtailment, delay, medical expenses, personal accident, emergency evacuation, and loss of money and baggage.
Upon confirmation of a booking you will be subject to our booking terms and conditions. We cannot be held liable for any losses or damages incurred. Should you require assistance with the above please contact us in good time.
African Odyssey Safaris will assume that the client has taken out relevant insurance cover.
The tour fares are fully inclusive except where otherwise stated. Bar accounts and laundry are not included unless specified. Most camps/lodges/hotels accept Visa/MasterCard and charge a fee. Very few take American Express. In the vast majority of cases you can pay for any extras with traveller’s cheques.

More than 60 days prior to commencement – 30% deposit only.
Less than 60 days prior to commencement – 50% of total cost.

Please contact us for details specific to your holiday or tour. Arrangements can be made to transport excess baggage on behalf of the client at an additional cost.
